The Metropolitan Expo was once again filled with industry professionals and business representatives who fully leveraged the exhibition’s networking, information-sharing, and collaboration opportunities. From the early hours of the day, targeted interactions between exhibitors and visitors laid fertile ground for new commercial agreements.

The Hosted Buyers Program continued to bear fruit, with additional meetings enhancing the global reach of the Greek industry and paving the way for international partnerships. Key buyers from abroad expressed enthusiasm for the quality of Greek products and the technological readiness of domestic enterprises.

The final day of the F&B NEXT-GEN Stage featured highly engaging presentations and talks focused on critical issues facing the food and beverage industry.

Discussions centered on emerging technologies and artificial intelligence as catalysts for the foods of the future, as well as the looming food crisis and the potential of technology to offer meaningful solutions. Special emphasis was placed on the use of non-invasive spectroscopic sensors combined with AI tools and IT technologies to digitize the supply chain.

Additionally, the role of AI in agricultural production and sustainable development was analyzed, along with the importance of certification in strengthening consumer trust. A standout moment was the presentation of Barba Stathis’ innovative journey toward the future of nutrition.

The I-RESTART and AGRIFOODSKILLS projects were also showcased, focusing on reskilling and upskilling in the agri-food and veterinary sectors. Finally, the role of Micro-Credentials in shaping future skills was discussed, aiming to enhance digital and green competencies for a sustainable future in agri-food.

Visitors had the opportunity to explore pioneering products, engage with top suppliers, and draw inspiration from the success stories presented. FOODTECH 2025 concluded with a sense of satisfaction and anticipation for the future, leaving behind a wealth of knowledge, experiences, and new collaborations.

This year’s event proved that the Greek Food & Beverage industry has the potential to lead on the global stage, harnessing technology, innovation, and strategic outreach.
