With 18,000 visitors from 10,000 businesses, 300 international buyers from 50 countries from all over the world, and 200 Greek and foreign exhibitors, the 1st FOODTECH has made its presence felt in the country’s exhibition events. At the same time it laid a solid foundation for becoming a leading exhibition event for the southern gate of Europe.
From the first moment FOODTECH was announced, the response from the most important companies in the industry to participate was enormous. Now that the exhibition ended, its 200 exhibitors and 18,000 visitors say that “the industry needed this exhibition”. The presence of significant international buyers, the quality and quantity of b2b meetings between exhibitors and visitors, and the high organizational level of both the exhibition and the special events, have led to FOODTECH 2019’s great commercial success.
Industry leaders presented the future of the F&B industry
The most important Greek companies and major businesses from abroad that produce or import F&B Technology and Equipment products and services, presented their machinery and services to thousands of Greek and foreign potential customers. The owners and executives, such as factory directors, production engineers, quality control managers, R&D managers, logistics managers, procurement managers, etc. who came to the Metropolitan Expo, had the opportunity to hold dozens of b2b meetings and close deals with exhibitors. Innovation, robotics and smart technologies made all the difference at the three Halls where the 200 exhibitors’ booths were developed. The impressive machinery and applications that help improve and automate a company’s product line stole the show, “stating” that the future is … here.
The exhibition featured 18,000 professionals from 10,000 businesses
The industry’s businessmen who were looking for innovative products, services and practical solutions to improve, develop or automate their business production line, all set to meet at the FOODTECH exhibition. The 18,000 executives from 10,000 food and beverage companies who visited FOODTECH 2019, got specific answers on issues that will affect the future of the industry, came up with practical solutions for tomorrow’s challenges, made deals and formed new business partnerships. At the same time, visitors’ statements, all of whom expressed their enthusiasm for the quality of exhibitors while stating that their industry needed such an exhibition, and the number of business contacts and discussions we saw happening throughout the exhibition, brought out the great success of FOODTECH.
An exhibition of international character
From the first moment FOODTECH was announced, the goal of the organizing company was to help it acquire an international character and establish itself as a major Technology and Equipment Exhibition for the Food and Beverage industry in the entire Southeastern Europe. So, through the presence of 300 foreign visitors—coming from 50 countries from all over the world— the 150 most important of which were selected based on strict criteria and joined the exhibition’s Hosted Buyer program, FOODTECH confirmed expectations and set a solid foundation to become an major forum for the industry that goes beyond the country’s boarders. Throughout the three days of the exhibition, international buyers had the opportunity to hold a significant number of meetings—some 2,250 b2b meetings were held in total— with exhibitors, and to leave either having achieved new purchase deals or generating new leads.
Special events: Major case studies and innovative ideas left a lasting impression
The Special Events were an important part of FOODTECH. On the organizing company’s initiative, a Scientific Committee was set up consisting of representatives of AGMPM, SEVT, PETET, SEVITEL, SEVEK, which set up a series of speeches and discussions on the developments and trends related to food and beverage production, packaging, storage and handling technologies. Industry 4.0, Circular Economy, Technologies and Innovations in Food & Beverage Production and Packaging draw the attention of exhibitors and visitors, who flooded the specially designed Seminars & Workshops stage at Hall 2.
