We declare the official opening of GLOBAL PACK & FOODTECH 2023 trade shows

A large number of representatives of the local political life and institutional bodies attended the opening ceremony of FOODTECH and GLOBAL PACK exhibitions, which are held in parallel. 

 FOODTECH and GLOBAL PACK 2023 were inaugurated by the General Secretary of Trade & Consumer Protection, Sotiris Anagnostopoulos, at Metropolitan expo, on Saturday, November 11, in the presence of executives from leading companies in the Packaging & Food and Beverages industries.

Mr. Athanasios Panagoulias, President of BOD & CEO of FORUM AE -Member of NürnbergMesse Group, said that “the aim of all of us with this parallel organization is to unite under the same roof all sectors and representatives of Greek industry. We envision to create a focal meeting point for the entire industrial, manufacturing, and commercial entrepreneurship of the country, a dynamic commercial forum, an active networking and information hub. Looking today at the halls of the two exhibitions and at the stands of our 265 exhibitors, I strongly believe that pioneering and innovation are the main characters. Personally, me and my colleagues wish great success to the exhibitors. We are committed to make GLOBAL PACK and FOODTECH the hub for profitable commercial agreements for professionals who invest in the development of their business”. 

During the opening, greetings were addressed by: Mr. Dimitris Mantis, President of the Association of Materials & Packaging Industries (SYVIPYS), Mr. Angelos Balamatsias, Vice-President of Hellenic Labelers Association, Mr. Ioannis Smarnakis, President of the Panhellenic Union of Food Technologists (PETET), Mr. Stylianos Skaribas, President of the Association of Greek Meat Processing Industries (SEVEK), Mr. Georgios Fragistas, President of Incofruit.

Savvas Pelekis, PASOK Deputy Secretary for Development & Investments 

Mr. Savvas Pelekis, Deputy Secretary of the Development and Investment Sector of PASOK, wished success to visitors and exhibitors of the two exhibitions, while Mr. Vassilis Kokkalis, Member of Parliament for SYRIZA and Head of the Department for Rural Development and Food, emphasized the importance of the parallel organization of the two exhibitions and wished dynamic results to FOODTECH and GLOBAL PACK.

Afterwards, the General Secretary of Trade & Consumer Protection, Mr. Sotiris Anagnostopoulos, went up to the stage and said characteristically that the parallel holding of the two exhibitions, FOODTECH and GLOBAL PACK, is very smart, as it brings together two parts of the industry that work closely together and can develop significant synergies by strengthening the economy.

The opening ceremony was attended by dozens of executives from all branches of Greek industry and representatives of institutional bodies. All of them were welcomed by the President of BOD & CEO of FORUM AE -Member of NürnbergMesse Group Mr. Thanasis Panagoulias, the CFO and Executive Board Member of FORUM SA Mr. Stratos Apostolakos. 

 Among them were: Giorgos Polychronakis, Incofruit Special Advisor, Dionysis Grigoropoulos, President of the Hellenic Association of Refrigeration Industries, Giorgos Dozas, President of the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce, Ioannis Daveronis, Secretary General of POESE, etc. Also present at the opening of the two exhibitions was Michalis Katrinis, Parliamentary Representative of PASOK.
